Happy New Year! For the past few months I’ve been feeling Papa tugging on my heart so strongly to remind you that you are enough, as well as significant! That’s right He wants to remind each of us that we are not only enough, but more than enough! Feelings of inadequacy is the same trap the enemy has used since the beginning. His goal is to cause you to partner with unbelief and doubt everything about yourself and your creator. In Genesis 3:1-3, we read with sadden hearts the day Eve doubted the goodness of her creator. That day her doubt caused her to turn from God to something else to feel complete. She looked outside of what she knew to be true and bit into a lie. Now that which was confined outside of her will now be a seed inside of her, giving birth to something she never had to contend with before because she had no knowledge of it – inadequacy. This was the beginning of mankind’s identity crisis.
Eve no longer saw herself through the father eyes, but through the lenses of deception. She would live out a life that was designed by a lie. How tragic is that! Yet, the enemy is still cunning, and we might not realize that we too can fall into the same trap. The truth of the matter is that many have been in this trap! Living a life that a lie designed.
When we believe that we lack something it causes us to look away from God and look to something or someone else to feel complete. It causes us to chase after in order to obtain that which we feel we lack. Feelings of inadequacy causes us to distrust what God said about us in His word or believe the lie that it only applies to the more worthy men and women. We can fall into the trap of not feeling powerful enough, gifted enough, good enough, smart enough, successful enough, prettier or handsome enough, and the list can go on. When this happen, we chase! Chase after what you may ask. After anything outside of ourselves and God! You find yourself always chasing after in order to obtain. You believe the lie that you lack something and that you are insignificant. If we are not careful, we find ourselves constantly trying to silence the lie or fill the void with the external. This is exhausting because nothing will ever satisfy you but God, Himself. I hear God saying, “Take your running shoes off and put your dancing shoes on.” Yes, dance with Papa God in this New Year! Learn to move in the rhythm of His grace. Trusting His every move. You have everything you need inside of you. So, keep your eyes fixed on the Lover of your soul. You lack nothing because the God who is the creator of everything lives in you! You have full access to Him and everything you need to fulfil your purpose through His Holy Spirit. If there is areas in your life that you are feeling inadequate or you are still questioning His goodness in regards to how He created you, take some time and invite Him into those parch places so that His living waters can help you perceive the truth of how fearfully and wonderfully He made you- He will show ( answer you). If you want more of Him look to Him and you will find Him!
Lastly, one day last month I received some disappointing news. I thought it didn’t bother me, but with every new conversation I found myself repeating the letdown. It was not until I was praying when I heard the Lord clearly speak. He said, “Don’t give breath to anything that you don’t want to live.” Yes, you have authority and, life and death are in the power of your tongue. If you rehearse it – you are keeping it alive. Let what needed to die in 2019 die! Stop giving life to past disappointments. I am not saying it is easy, but please hear my heart, rehearsing it only keeps you stuck. However, the power of forgiveness, healing, and a positive attitude towards a disappointment can shift your perspective! So, this is my prayer for you found in Ephesians 1: 17-19… so you can truly comprehend who you are and this next season of your life. So that you can dance freely in 2020 and years to come.
I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him.
I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!
I pray that you will continually experience the immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you!
